BS 184 “The Jack-of-All-Trades”
There is hardly any speaker that is as versatile as the BS 184. It is a sturdy bookshelf
speaker that is capable of almost anything. Whether it's for classical, pop or jazz, you get a
smart compact speaker with a modern, fresh sound, and at a fair price.
The BS 184 has been optimised for positioning (near to a wall) in a bookcase, but as is
normal for ELAC, it can adapted to the conditions in the room with the aid of the split bass
reflex plug.
This fine all-rounder is the bookshelf speaker in the new 180 line, which is presented
by ELAC under the heading "Reduced to the Max". This minimalist approach relates both to
the exterior and to the internal values. All the important technical features that you expect of
a high-quality speaker have been included in this line, and with a good price/performance
ratio. For everyone who does not want to see technique, ELAC offers two alternatives: cloth
frames or grill covers. Both are within the scope of supply.

as ELAC's aluminium sandwich technology. The cabinet is provided with stiffing boards on
the inside, which significantly reduces any undesirable
resonances. The BS 184 offers an additional practical
advantage: The impedance of 6 ohms means that the
speaker can also be connected with no difficulty to load-
critical amplifiers or to surround-sound amplifiers using
class D technology.
