BS 182, down-firing in the compact speaker class!
With the BS 182, ELAC is introducing down-firing into the
compact speaker class for the first time. With its downwards
oriented bass reflex tube and integrated base plate, the BS 182
is especially suitable for use on a sideboard or shelf. The
irresistible compact speaker is also visually very appealing, with
its base plate and chromed spacers.

The full and warm sound that this compact speaker is capable of
generating is truly impressive. This compact plays as well as
much larger speakers!
The impedance of 6 ohms means that the speaker can also be
connected to load-critical amplifiers or to surround-sound
amplifiers using class D technology without difficulty.

The membrane area
of the TT 135 AS woofer which
was developed especially for the BS 182 is just as
large as that of a 140-mm woofer and thanks to its
optimum basket geometry it is destined for use in
slimline cabinets.

Special attention was paid during the woofer’s design
to result a high-performance system providing
sufficient electrical damping of the pronounced
fundamental resonance.

The crossover design is characterized by a
sophisticated filter technology for perfect integration
of the dispersion characteristics of both drivers.

The JET III tweeter – with its special neodymium
magnet system – has a particularly powerful drive unit.
Thanks to its ribbon geometry, it has an upper cut off
frequency of 50 kHz.

Practical/other features:
•
Shelf / compact speaker with attractive design and new down-fire technology, similar to floorstanders from the 180 series
(and 240 series) and subwoofers of the 20xx series.
(and 240 series) and subwoofers of the 20xx series.
•
Bi-wiring (bi-amping) terminal for separate drive of the high frequency range and bass/mid-range.
•
High quality lacquer cabinet finish.
•
Base plate with ornamental spacers.
•
6 ohm impedance for operation with load-critical amplifiers or amplifiers with Class D technology.
•
Double chamfered bass reflex tube to minimise airflow noises.
•
The cabinets of all the 180 series speakers are internally reinforced to minimise cabinet resonance.
•
The LS 70 speaker stand is available as an accessory.
•
Magnetically fixed cover grille
