Preparing the Ink Cartridge
This section describes how to prepare the ink cartridge so that you can
use the imprinter to print text or a bitmap on scanned documents.
About the Ink Cartridge
The ink cartridge is not included with the scanner. Purchase an ink
cartridge separately, as shown below.
Compatible ink cartridges: Canon ink cartridge PG-50 Black
(0616B002) or PG-40 Black (0615B002)
IMPORTANT
These ink cartridges are available for 5 years after production has
stopped.
Setting the Ink Cartridge and Adjusting
the Print Position
The ink cartridge needs to be set to print. Set the ink cartridge
according to the following procedure. You can adjust the print position
to two different levels.
IMPORTANT
To set the ink cartridge, turn the scanner OFF before removing the
Top Cover. After the ink cartridge is set, replace the Top Cover, and
then turn the scanner back ON.
1
Remove the Top Cover.
2
Squeeze the Print Position Adjustment Lever, and push it
down to the bottom position.
3
Place the ink cartridge shown in the diagram below.
CAUTION
Do not touch the electrical contact on the carriage. Doing so
may cause a malfunction.
NOTE
Do not use more than one cartridge by rotation. If you do so,
applications cannot check the ink level precisely.
