Scanning Problems
Cannot scan a document.

Is there anything displayed on the LCD?
A
If anything is displayed on the LCD, see Chapter 
10, “Troubleshooting,” in the Reference Guide.

Is the Error indicator blinking?
A
If the Error indicator is blinking, see Chapter 10, 
“Troubleshooting,” in the Reference Guide.

Is the document placed correctly?
A
Remove the document and place it on the platen 
glass or in the ADF correctly. (See Chapter 2, 
“Document and Paper,” in the Reference Guide.)

Is your computer working properly?
A
Restart your computer.
Q
Is your USB hub or repeater working properly?
A
When using a USB hub or repeater, try connecting 
a USB cable directly to the computer to check if it 
works properly. If you can scan the document 
successfully after connecting a USB cable directly 
to the computer, check your USB hub or repeater if 
it is working properly.
