Remote Control
1 MUTE button
Minimizes the TV volume instantly.
Press again to return to the previous
volume level.
2 AUDIO button
Selects the sound output mode. (✈P.25)
3 VCR/TV button
ONLY FOR SCART CONNECTION
(✈P.8) USERS:
Switches TV mode between AV and TV.
When pressed and VCR indicator on the
display window lights, TV mode
changes to AV mode.
When pressed and VCR indicator goes
off, TV mode changes to TV mode.
4 SPEED button
•  Selects the tape speed for recording
(SP or LP). During playback, the tape
speed is automatically selected (SP or
LP). (✈P.22, P.29, P.30)
•  Enables/disables auto tracking mode
during playback (✈P.23).

Rewinds the tape. Also, during
playback, starts rapid reverse visual
search.
6 PROG. +/
5 button
• Moves up the channel position on the
VCR.
• Moves up the cursor when using the
VCR menus.
• Adjusts the tracking during playback
and slow motion picture (✈P.23).

4/2 button
• Locates an index marked at the
beginning of every recording.

• Goes back to the previous menu
screen when using the menus.

∞ button
• Moves down the channel position on
the VCR.
• Moves down the cursor when using
the menus.
• Adjusts the tracking during playback,
and slow motion picture (✈P.23).
9 TV VOL (volume) +/– buttons
Changes the TV volume.
Release at desired volume.
10 PAUSE/STILL 
8 button
Stops the tape during recording (pause)
or playback (still picture).

3 to resume normal
playback or recording.
Activates slow motion picture when
pressed for more than 2 seconds during

11 SMARTPICTURE button
Selects the SmartPicture mode. (✈P.24)
12 MENU button
Calls up the main menu.
13 JOG/SHTL (Shuttle) button
and lamp
Activates the jog dial and shuttle ring
on the remote control when the lamp
(the button itself) is lit. (✈P.23)
14 Shuttle ring
Starts reverse or forward rapid visual
search during playback or still picture
mode. (✈P.23)
15 TV POWER button
Turns the TV on or off.
16 VCR POWER button
• Turns the VCR on or off.
• Sets the VCR for an unattended
recording (timer recording) after
timer settings are completed.
17 EJECT

Ejects the cassette. (✈P.21, P.22)
18 Number buttons
(0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and
9)
• Selects a channel position on the
VCR.
To select channel positions 1 to 9,
