WITCHING THE MODULATOR ON AND OFF

If picture and sound interference cannot be removed by

optimizing the modulator, the integral modulator can be switched

off.Warning: this is only possible if you have connected the video

recorder to the TV set with a scart cable. It is not possible to

operate with the modulator switched off without a scart cable.

5 Press O

K several times until the display

briefly shows the message "OK".

The purpose of this electronic assembly inside your

video recorder is to pass on the picture and sound

information read in from the video tape via an aerial

cable like a TV signal to the TV set. The modulator

frequency determines the frequency range in which

these signals are transmitted.

TIIPP

1 Make sure there is no cassette in the video

recorder and switch the set off

2 Press aatt tthhee ssaam

mee the stop button h

on the remote control and the stop/eject

button ?on the front of the video

recorder until the display shows e.g. "M583"

3 Press O

K.The display will show "MOD+"

(modulator on) or "MOD-" (modulator off)

4 Use PP++ and PP-- to select the setting "MOD-",

to switch off the modulator, or "MOD+", to

switch the modulator back on

4 Check that the video recorder and TV set are

connected with a scart cable and/or that the scart

cable is correctly connected.

to switch the modulator on again ("MOD+")
