/ALCI

(appliance leakage current interrupter) safety device specifically engineered for
safety. It is for household use and may be plugged into a standard AC electrical
outlet (ordinary household current).
HOW ESP

The ESP

®

/ALCI safety device in this unit is built into the plug. This device will

make it inoperable under some abnormal conditions, such as accidental
immersion in water. If the appliance is immersed in water, do not attempt to
reset the ESP

The ESP

®

/ALCI safety device is equipped with a test button so that its operation

can be checked.
TO USE (See Fig. A):
1. Press the Reset button on the ESP

®

/ALCI safety device.

2. Plug your hair dryer into an AC outlet then press the Test button. 
3. The Reset button will pop out. This verifies the safety device is operating

properly. If the Reset button does not pop out, do not use the unit. Return it
immediately for service.

4. Press the Reset button to reactivate the ESP

®

/ALCI safety device. Your hair

dryer is ready for use.

Repeat this procedure every time you use the hair dryer to confirm that the safety
device is operational.
SPECIAL ATTENTION
• If the unit detects an electrical shock hazard, it will immediately shut off. 

To restore power, press the Reset button on the ESP

®

/ALCI safety device to

reactivate the circuit.

• This appliance is designed with a protective coating around the heating coils.

When operating the first few times, you may notice momentary smoking when
turning unit Off. This represents no danger to the user and does not indicate a
defect in the unit. The smoke should dissipate within a short time.

• Never block the air intake grille, as this will cause the unit to overheat. Should

this happen, a built-in safety system will operate, and the unit will shut off
automatically. Turn the unit Off and clear any obstruction from the air intake
grille. Wait 10 minutes before operating the appliance again. If the unit fails to
operate, it may indicate that the appliance has sustained extensive damage.
Do not try to repair it. See warranty for instructions.

• Never touch heating section as it may be hot and can burn you.
• To avoid possible scalp or hair burns, use very hot and fast setting only when

hair is wet. Reduce to lower heat as hair dries.

• Do not keep appliance directed at one place; keep it in constant motion. This is

especially important if drying a wig, which could be damaged by heat.

• For maximum airflow, hold dryer not closer to the head than six inches.
• To extend the life of the dryer, it is recommended to switch it to the coolest

setting for a few seconds before shutting it off.

• Untwist the cord from time to time to avoid tangling.
YOUR HAIR DRYER
This dryer features two speeds and four heat settings. Use high heats/speed for
most styling/procedures and hair types. Select lower heats/speed for drying and
styling permed, color-treated or fragile hair. 

COOL /HOT BUTTON: Use this feature to set the style in place. See Fig. B.
AIR CONCENTRATOR: The air concentrator attaches to the end of the dryer barrel.
It allows airflow to be directed on a small section of hair at a time when hair is
styled and shaped with a vent brush or comb. It can also be used to build body and
fullness into fine, thin hair by directing the airflow against the natural growth
pattern of the hair. Attachment will be hot during use. Allow it to cool before
handling.
CERAMIC STYLING PIK: The ceramic styling pik attaches to the end of the dryer
barrel. You can adjust it to use with the wide teeth or the fine teeth. It lifts,
smoothes and builds body and volume into permed or naturally curly hair. The curl
pattern in overly curl hair can be smoothed by combing the hair repeatedly with
the pik from the scalp down.
To Attach Styling Pik: Slide the pik onto the dryer barrel.
DIGITAL DISPLAY: It displays the selected setting, heat level and wattage. 
See Fig. B.

This appliance is permanently lubricated and will not require any  additional
lubrication. It contains no user serviceable parts.
CLEANING
1. Unplug dryer and let it cool completely before cleaning. 
2. Wipe the surfaces with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not let water or any other

liquid get into the appliance.

3. Clean air-intake grille with a small brush to remove lint or hair buildup. To

remove air- intake grille, grasp the top and bottom of the grille and pull off. To
replace grille, insert tabs into slots on the dryer and push into place. 

STORAGE
• Store dryer in a clean, dry place with cord loosely coiled. 
• Do not put any stress on cord where it enters the handle, as it could cause cord

to fray and possibly break.

Before returning unit for service: Clean the removable air intake grille as well as
the fixed grille attached to the unit with a small brush or a vacuum cleaner brush
attachment. Then try to operate unit again.

PARA USAR (Consulte la fig. A):
1. Oprima el botón de reinicio (Reset) del dispositivo de seguridad ESP

®

/ALCI.

2. Enchufe el secador a una toma de corriente alterna, luego oprima el botón de

prueba (Test).

3. Asegúrese que el botón de reinicio salte hacia afuera para verificar que esté

funcionando apropiadamente. Si el botón de reinicio no salta hacia afuera, por
favor no use la unidad. Devuélvala de inmediato para que la revisen.

4. Oprima el botón de reinicio para reactivar el dispositivo de seguridad

ESP

®

/ALCI y poder usar el secador nuevamente.

Siempre que use el secador, oprima el botón de reinicio del dispositivo de
seguridad para reactivarlo y asegurarse que está funcionando apropiadamente. 
CUIDADO ESPECIAL
• Esta unidad se apagará de inmediato si llegase a detectar cualquier peligro de

choque eléctrico. Oprima el botón de reinicio del dispositivo de seguridad
ESP

®

/ALCI para reactivar el circuito.

• La unidad ha sido diseñada con una capa de recubrimiento que protege las

resistencias de calor. Cuando opere el secador las primeras veces, usted
podría detectar la emisión de humo al APAGAR  la unidad.  Esto no representa
ningún peligro al usuario, como tampoco indica desperfecto en la unidad. El
humo se debería disipar en poco tiempo.

• A fin de evitar que el secador se caliente demasiado, no obstruya las entradas

de aire. En dado caso, un sistema de seguridad incorporado se activará, y la
unidad se apagará automáticamente. Apague el interruptor y limpie toda
obstrucción de la rejilla en la entrada de aire. Espere 10 minutos antes de
encender el secador nuevamente. Si el secador no funciona, es posible que ha
sostenido daño más serio. 
No trate de reparar el secador en casa. Consulte las instrucciones de la
garantía.

• A fin de evitar quemaduras, no toque el sistema de calentamiento del secador.  
• Para evitar posibles quemaduras al cuero cabelludo o al cabello, use la

posición y la velocidad más caliente sólo cuando el cabello esté mojado.
Reduzca la temperatura a medida el cabello se vaya secando. 

• No dirija el calor a una sola sección del cabello; mantenga el secador en

movimiento constante. Esto es muy importante especialmente al secar pelucas
que pueden dañarse con el calor. 

• Para lograr máximo flujo de aire, sujete el secador a una distancia no menor de

seis pulgadas de la cabeza.

• A fin de prolongar la vida útil del secador, se recomienda ajustarlo a la

temperatura más fría por unos segundos antes de apagarlo. 

• Desenrolle el cable de vez en cuando para evitar que se enrede.
COMO USAR SU SECADOR
Este secador le ofrece dos velocidades y cuatro posiciones para el ajuste de
temperaturas. Use la temperatura/velocidad más alta para la mayoría de peinados
y tipos de cabellos. Seleccione la temperatura/velocidad baja para el secado y el
arreglo de cabellos con permanente, teñidos o frágiles.

Este aparato trae lubricante permanente de fábrica y no requiere lubricación
adicional a lo largo de su vida útil. No contiene partes de utilidad para el
consumidor.
LIMPIEZA
1. Desconecte el secador y permita que se enfríe por completo antes de limpiarlo. 
2. Utilice un paño suave humedecido para limpiar la superficie de la unidad. No

permita la penetración de agua ni de ningún otro líquido adentro del secador. 

3. Limpie la rejilla de admisión de aire con una escobilla pequeña para remover

cualquier acumulación de pelusa o de pelo. Para retirar la parrilla, sosténgala
por la parte the arriba y la parte de abajo y sáquela. Para colocar la parrilla,
introduzca las guías interiores de la rejilla en las ranuras correspondientes del
secador y engánche la rejilla.

ALMACENAJE
• Almacene el secador en un lugar limpio, seco, con el cable enrollado

holgadamente.

• A fin de evitar que el cable se debilite y se rompa, no aplique presión excesiva a

la unión del cable con la unidad.

Antes de devolver la unidad para cualquier servicio o revisión: Por favor, retire la
rejilla removible de admisión de aire que viene sujeta al secador y límpie la rejilla
removible y la rejilla fija sujeta a la cubierta del secador con una escobilla
pequeña o use el accesorio de cepillo de la aspiradora. Luego encienda el
secador nuevamente para comprobar si está funcionando apropiadamente.

CONCENTRADOR DE AIRE: El concentrador de aire se instala fácilmente al
extremo del cuerpo del secador. El concentrador de aire permite dirigir el flujo de
aire directamente a una sección pequeña de cabello a la vez, en particular
cuando se le ha dado forma o se estilizado el cabello con un cepillo o peine de
escape. Sirve también para realzar y darle cuerpo al cabello fino permitiendo
dirigir el flujo de aire en dirección contraria a las raíces del cabello.
Este accesorio permanece caliente cuando está en uso. Permita que se enfríe
antes de tocarlo. 
PEINE ESTILIZADOR DE CERÁMICA: El peine estilizador está sujeto al extremo del
cuerpo del secador. Se puede ajustar para usar con los dientes anchos o con los
dientes finos. El estilizador es apropiado para alzar, suavizar y dar volumen al
cabello rizado o tratado con permanente. El cabello excesivamente rizado se
puede alisar pasando el peine repetidas veces desde las raíces hacia las puntas.
Para instalar el peine: Deslice el peine de estilizar en el cuerpo del secador.
VENTANILLA DIGITAL: Le permite ver el nivel de temperatura seleccionada con
los vatios correspondientes. Consulte la Fig. B.
