INTRODUCTION

Congratulations on your purchase of the VOX Night Train, the latest innovation to come out of the depths
of VOX R&D!

Like many musicians, we’re pretty lazy! With all those heavy amps to lug around from gig to gig, wouldn’t
it be great to have the most amazing tone in a portable foot print? Well now you can. Welcome to the
VOX Night Train.

Whether you’re a session player or a wanna-be rock God, your tone is the most important thing. This is a
fully functional 15 Watt all-tube head so diverse that you can play blues one night, country after that and
full on ROCK the next!

The Night Train features a Gain control, a preamp mode switch, a fully functional tone stack (Treble,
Middle and Bass), Master volume and an Output mode selector, enabling you to change the power stage
from Pentode, Standby or Triode mode (basically 15 Watts / Tubes warmed with no output / 7.5 Watts).

FRONT PANEL LAYOUT

1. INPUT Jack - 

Insert Guitar here!

2. GAIN Control - 

Use this to achieve chimey cleans when set before 12 o’clock, to ear

bleeding overdrive when cranked! And of course everything in between!

3. Mode Switch - 

This switch is used to adjust the front end pre-amp of the amplifier. There

are 2 modes:
a. BRIGHT - Now you have a bit more brightness.
b. THICK - Use this to boost your Gain to awesome levels! (NOTE: when this is on, the tone

controls aren’t!)

4. TREBLE Control - 

This controls the treble (high) frequencies in your sound - from soft

and round when turned down (counter-clockwise) to bright and cutting when cranked (clock-
wise) and all points in-between.

5. MIDDLE Control - 

This controls the middle (mid range) frequencies in your sound. From

hollow when turned down (counter-clockwise) to full and rich when cranked (clockwise) and
all points in between.
