The picture is taken.

C

 (Half-length Portrait), P (Portrait) and V (Natural Skin Tone) modes are 

suitable for taking pictures of people. Face Detection (p.61) operates for 
each shooting mode, making it easier to emphasize the subject’s face when 
taking pictures.

Press the four-way controller (3) in A mode.

The Capture Mode Palette appears.

• The shutter speed tends to be slower when taking pictures of dark 

scenes.

• To prevent camera shake, use a tripod and/or the self-timer function 

(p.78).

• In 

c mode, sensitivity is automatically fixed at Auto.

Half-length Portrait

For portraits with proper framing by automatic zoom. 
Fixed at h pixels.

P

Portrait

For capturing portraits. Reproduces a healthy and 
bright skin tone.

Natural Skin Tone

For images of people. Enhances skin tones while 
smoothing blemishes.
