Overview
The Z-Wave to Digital Motor Interface (ZDMI) receives Z-Wave commands from TaHomA and translates these commands for
Somfy’s line of digital motors. In TaHomA’s Dashboard, End Users can click and drag the motorized products icon to adjust
the product to any position between fully open and fully closed. The ZDMI is required to integrate all products powered by
Somfy’s digital motors into TaHomA. One ZDMI per motor.
Inclusion into TaHomA
NOTE: All connections must be properly wired and the motor’s limits must already be set. Please refer to the ZDMI
instructions for installation help. Only 1 device at a time can be included into TaHomA.
1.  When power is first connected to the ZDMI, the Inclusion LED will illuminate briefly, then turn off. Check the ZDMI’s
connection to the motor by briefly pressing and releasing the SETUP button to make the motorized product move. Verify
that the INCLUSION LED is off.
2.   In TaHomA’s Device Configurator, press the “Start Listening” button. Wait until the Device Finder window displays the
message “Listening for a device to add to the network” before continuing to the next step.
3.  Briefly press and release the SETUP button. The INCLUSION LED will illuminate solid red. The Device Finder window will
display the message “Found a Device” and the Name and Room drop down menus will appear.
If the Device Finder window hangs in the “Listening for device” state, you may be out of range of the TaHomA
controller, in which case, you will have to use the USBIC for programming (refer to page 69 f
or more information
about the USBIC).
