Navigation commands from the remote control go to the media that you started 
last. The other buttons control the first media. For example, if you are watching a 
DVD, and then you play music, pressing Pause pauses the music. Pressing the 
number buttons or Channel Up changes the channel.

You can use the Digital Entertainer HD for digital video recording (DVR) and for 
continuous loop recording.

A standard movie .mpg file is created, which which you can play on most PCs. 

Follow these steps to use the DVR feature:

1. Press Record to record what you are currently watching as a hard disk file.

2. Specify how long to record, or press Stop to stop recording.

To record a video source such as a VHS tape of your family wedding to hard disk:  

1. Place the tape in your VCR. Push 

 Home, and then select TV-Video> 

VCR.  

2. Press 

 

until you skip past the tape’s header, and then press 

 

again to 

pause the tape playback.  

3. Press Record. When the “recording” message appears on screen, press 

 

to 

start the tape playing again. Press 

 to stop when the recording is complete.

You can also set the length of time for your recording, and watch something else 
while the recording is ongoing.  After you have started recording, push 

 Home 

and select what you want to watch.

Note: To record a media source onto a computer hard disk you must first 

set up the network recording destination using the Recording 
Setup menu. Push 

 Home, and then select Supervisor> 

Functions>Setup>Recording Settings.
