Thank you for purchasing the BT81 Bluetooth Stereo
Headset by ATA. This device is a complete Bluetooth
stereo headset that can switch easily between headset,
handsfree and audio streaming modes.

Charging the Battery
8. This product may need to be reset manually if it has
been subjected to a strong electrostatic discharge.

BT81. If this product fails to operate properly due to
faulty assembly or materials within the specified warranty
period then the authorized dealer will, at their option,
either replace or repair the product in accordance with the
following terms and conditions:
1. The warranty is valid only if the original receipt
issued upon original purchase from an authorized
ATA dealer is presented with the faulty product.
The date of purchase and product serial number
should be specified on the receipt. Please
contact your local ATA dealer to find out more
about their replacement policies and procedures.
2. The warranty does not cover any failure due to
normal wear and tear or misuse (including but
not limited to use in the manner outlined in this
manual). The warranty also does not cover any
failure of the product due to modification,
adjustment, accident, acts of God or any
improper use or storage.
3. The warranty does not cover product failure
caused through the use of non-authorized ATA
dealers or service partners.
4. The warranty does not cover product failures
caused by the use of non-original ATA

remain on constantly. Once the battery is fully charged the
light will turn off. For more information about the LED lights
and what they indicate please refer to the table later in this

(1) Pairing your Bluetooth Headset with a
Bluetooth Dongle
This device can receive an audio signal from a
compatible Bluetooth dongle, but it first needs to
search for a dongle to pair up with. To pair this
device to a dongle you need to do the following:
1 – Check the device is turned OFF, then press and
hold down the “ON/OFF” button for 5 seconds. When
you release the button you will see both the red and
blue LED lights flash rapidly (around twice a second).
This means the device is searching for a dongle to pair
up with.
Once the device finds a compatible dongle the red LED
will stop flashing and the blue LED will flash more
slowly (around once every 2 seconds). This means it
has paired with a compatible dongle.
2 – Turn OFF the device for at least 5 seconds (until
you see the blue LED turn off).
3 – Turn the device ON again and it will now connect
automatically to the dongle it was just paired with.

6. Once the headset and mobile are paired correctly the
red LED light will stop flashing and the blue LED light
will flash more slowly – around once every 2
seconds. This means it has paired a compatible
mobile.
7. You now need to operate the “A2DP” function on
your mobile to play music (e.g. open your mobile
device’s music player program and select play via
the headset). For more information on how to do
this check your mobile’s instruction manual.

(2) Pairing your Bluetooth Headset with a
Bluetooth Mobile
This device can receive a signal from a compatible
Bluetooth mobile, but it first needs to search for a
mobile to pair up with. To pair this device to a mobile
you need to do the following:
1. Activate the Bluetooth function on your mobile
phone.
2. Search for the Bluetooth stereo headset(BT81)
3. On your Bluetooth stereo headset, check the device
is turned OFF, then press and hold down the
“ON/OFF” button for 5 seconds. When you release
the button you will see both the red and blue LED
lights flash rapidly (around twice a second). This
means the device is searching for a mobile to pair up
with.
4. On your mobile select the BT81 headset from the list
of Bluetooth devices that are showing in range.
5. Enter the default PIN number “0000” in order to
pair the devices.

(3) Multiple pairing – connection to both a
Bluetooth Dongle and a Bluetooth Mobile
This device can connect simultaneously to both a
Bluetooth Dongle and a Bluetooth Mobile.
To do this, first pair your headset with a Bluetooth
Mobile (as described in section 2 above) then
disconnect. Second, pair your headset to a Bluetooth
Dongle (as described in section 1 above). Ensure there
is no audio input from the dongle and re-connect to the
Bluetooth Mobile. The device will now be connected to
both Mobile and Dongle.
Note:
1. When the headset and dongle are paired the
user is required to press the ON/OFF button on both
devices, then they will both be paired automatically.
2. Do not use a linear AC/DC adaptor, you should use
a switching AC/DC adaptor (5.5v) or a USB jack.
3. Note the PIN code is fixed as “0000”.
