Commands can be entered on a computer using either of following methods:
•
Running a Secure Shell (SSH) session configured for TCP/IP, and connected to the Wi-Fi
Switch’s Secure Management port or LAN port (eth0). See

Running a terminal emulator and connecting to the switch’s RS-232 serial (console) port with the
supplied DB-9 null modem cable.

Emulating a VT100 terminal with the following settings typically works well:
•
Baud: 9600
•
Data bits: 8
•
Parity: None
•
Stop bits: 1
•
Flow control: None
If the vivato prompt does not appear immediately after starting your terminal emulator, press the Enter
key on your computer a few times to get a prompt. If no prompt appears, check your cable connections
and terminal emulator settings.
