IBALANCE TECHNOLOGY

Stability is one of the most important features of
any Mobility System because it prevents you
from tipping over. There is more than one way to
achieve stability.

The iBalance technology in the ibot Mobility
System uses a computer system with
gyroscopes and other sensors. Gyroscopes are
sensors that monitor changes in motion. The
gyroscopes and other sensors send signals to
the computer. The computer processes the
information and tells the motors how to move
the wheels to maintain stability and balance.

The iBalance technology maintains balance in
the forward and backward directions. This means
the device will keep your seat relatively level
when driving straight up or down curbs or
inclines. It does not electronically maintain side-
to-side (lateral) stability.

The ibot has multiple operating modes that use
the iBalance technology. Each mode uses the
core technology in a slightly different way.

During transitions between Standard, 4-Wheel, Balance, and
Stair modes avoid excessive body movement since the
iBalance technology is not active until the transition is
complete.
