The original is scanned by the scanner section, and the 
scanned image is printed by the printer section.
Referred to as the "machine", the "main unit", or the 
"C452" throughout the manual.

Authentication unit (biometric type)

Performs user authentication by scanning vein patterns 
in the finger.
Working table WT-506 is required to install the authenti-
cation unit.
