Before removing the battery, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.

Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.

Remove the battery:

Turn the computer right-side up, with the front toward you.
2.
Disconnect the battery cable.
3.
Move the battery cable to the side (1), and then remove the 3 Phillips PM 2.5×4.2 screws (2) that
secure the battery to the top cover.
