Before removing the battery, follow these steps:

Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.

Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.

Disconnect all external devices from the computer.

Remove the display assembly (see 

Remove the system board (see 

Remove the battery:

Release the power button board cable (1) from the clips built into the battery.

Remove the four Phillips PM1.4×2.3 screws (2) that secure the battery to the bottom case.

Remove the battery (3) from the bottom case.

Reverse this procedure to install the battery.
