Retrospect makes it easy to set up and schedule backups, and it simplifies 
the process of performing restores. Just answer a few simple questions, 
and your first backup will be running in less than five minutes. Retrospect 
lets you perform backups when they are convenient for you. Set backups  
to run automatically with minimal manual intervention on a daily, weekly,  
or monthly cycle.

Retrospect 6.1 runs on a Macintosh computer and protects networked 
desktops or notebooks running the latest Macintosh operating systems, 
including Mac OS X Tiger, as well as Windows and Red Hat Linux.

Fast backups

 

During the initial backup, Retrospect copies all the files and folders that you 
select. For subsequent backups, Retrospect compares the selected data on 
your computer to the existing backup data and copies only files and folders 
that are new or have changed. By moving fewer files, Retrospect saves time 
and requires less storage space, saving money. Retrospect verifies all file 
content, not just the file name and size, eliminating painful surprises during 
restores if data was not accurately backed up.

Smart Restores™

 

Retrospect’s patented technology provides reliable, accurate restores by 
compiling a list of files and folders prior to each backup. Retrospect 
references the appropriate list and restores only the exact data needed to 
return the computer to a particular point in time. Other software incorrectly 
returns files and folders that were previously deleted, renamed, and moved. 
Retrospect recovers only the data you need, eliminating confusion and 
potential mistakes.
