FILM ADAPTER UNIT WITH FARE
TECHNOLOGY
TECHNOLOGY
CanonScan 8000F is equipped with a large Film
Adapter Unit (FAU). It can scan up to 12 frames
of 35 mm film in one pass. Also featured is FARE
(Film Automatic Retouching and Enhancement)
technology, first introduced on high-end film
scanners. This process uses infrared light to identify
and map dust and scratches on the surface of the
original. These are intelligently removed from the
scanned image saving you literally hours of
retouching time. FARE Level 1, a new innovation
featured on the 8000F, has been improved to offer
even greater accuracy.
PROFESSIONAL QUALITY
As well as boasting an extremely high resolution
of 2400 x 4800 dpi, the 8000F introduces a
revolutionary CCD design for outstanding levels of
colour accuracy and sharpness. Diamond shaped
pixels improve the scanning accuracy of each
element over the traditional square design, delivering
sharper, more accurate scans. Combined with a
more efficient dual reflector lighting system, the
8000F ensures professional results of the highest
quality.
USB CONNECTION
The USB 2.0 High Speed interface is the new
standard in PC connectivity, delivering scan speeds
that are up to 4 times faster than standard USB
scanners. The CanoScan 8000F is already equipped
with it, saving you time and of course making it
compatible with PC and Macintosh.

FARE saves you countless hours of retouching time. Combined with the CanoScan 8000F's ability to scan 12 x 35mm negatives in a single
operation using its unique fast Multi-Photo mode, Canon delivers unsurpassed combination of quality and productivity for desktop film scanning.
Revolutionary diamond shaped pixel elements dramatically improve the scanning
accuracy of the CanoScan 8000F. Each individual element captures information
to a higher degree of accuracy resulting in scans, which at equivalent resolutions,
(versus conventional CCD design) are sharper and contain more detail.
Overall scan quality is improved especially for enlargement of small originals
such as 35mm film.
