STREAMLINE DATABASE CONNECTIVITY WITH THE NEW DBEXPRESS 4 DATABASE ARCHITECTURE
The new dbExpress 4 database architecture streamlines database connectivity and adds support for the most recent versions of SQL
databases including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Informix, IBM DB2, SQL Anywhere Sybase and more in the Architect and Enterprise
Editions. The Professional Edition supports Blackfish SQL, InterBase 2007 and MySQL 4.1 and 5.0 databases. We’ve added support for the
managed ADO.NET 2.0 data source, which enables interaction with CodeGear’s Blackfish SQL embedded database. The new Unicode
compatible dbExpress 4 architecture is the high performance, flexible, and expandable foundation that supports modern database
development now and into the future. dbExpress 4 is a new VCL based RAD database infrastructure and simplifies application development
and driver and extension development. It is also compatible with existing VCL dbExpress components and existing dbExpress 3 drivers, so
there is no need to rework existing code to support the new and improved database infrastructure.
