Give your cost-sensitive motor control and sensor designs
a boost in performance with these latest controllers
from Microchip. The ‘MC’ families of PIC24FJ16 MCUs
and dsPIC33FJ16 DSCs are optimized for sensored
and sensorless motor control applications using a wide
range of algorithms, while the dsPIC33FJ16 ‘GP’ family
is designed for advanced, general-purpose sensing. Both
families integrate an on-chip Charge Time Measurement
Unit (CTMU) and a 10-bit Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC)
in addition to three analog comparators, a Real-Time Clock/
Calendar (RTCC) and timers as well as input capture and
output compare modules. All in space-saving packages with
footprints down to 5 mm and up to 36 pins.

The ‘GP’ dsPIC DSCs also give you up to 21 general output
pins for driving intelligent sensors, while the ‘MC’ MCUs and
DSCs simplify motor control with a 6-channel Pulse Width
Modulation (PWM) module and synchronized outputs for
3-phase operation. This allows you to drive higher effi ciency,
quieter operation, smoother torque and high reliability across
a range of motor control applications.
