d) Checking the Neutral Position of the Rudders
Before starting your model for the first time, you need to familiarise yourself with the control functions and test the
model functions. 
Connect the two servo plugs to the receiver according to the notes in the operating instructions of the remote control 
used. Switch on the transmitter first and put the throttle lever into the „Motor off“ position. Connect the flight battery
to the flight controller.
When the control lever for the aileron and ele-
vator function and the trimming of the control 
functions is precisely in the centre position, the 
rudders (1) should be precisely in the centre as
well. 
Viewed from the rear, the rudders must form a
level with the wing and must not be deflected to
the top or bottom, left or right. 
If the rudders are not aligned precisely and you 
are using a simple remote control without digi-
tal path setting for controlling the model, you 
can align the rudders (1) precisely, e.g. with the
bend in the linkage wire (2).
The bend can be compressed or expanded as 
required. Use small long-nose pliers and work 
with the required dexterity. 
If you are using a progressive computer remote control system for controlling the model, you can comfortably pro-
gramme the neutral position from the transmitter.
e) Checking the Rudder Deflections
  The model is controlled via the two rudders only. Therefore, the remote control used must contain a „Delta 
mixer“. In the mixer, the elevator and aileron commands of the transmitter are mixed with each other.
Such mixers are generally present in „computer remote control systems“; they are also frequently integrated
into cost-efficient beginner remote control systems.
If the control stick for the elevator function is moved down, the two rudders must deflect to the top at the same time
and evenly. The rear rudder edges of the rudders must be deflected upwards by approx. 12 - 15 mm.
If the control stick for the elevator function is moved forward, the two rudders must deflect down at the same time and
evenly. The rear rudder edges of the rudders must be deflected upwards by approx. 12 - 15 mm.
If the control lever for the aileron function is moved to the left, the left rudder must deflect to the top and that of the right
wing to the bottom. The rear rudder edge must be deflected downwards or upwards by approx. 12 – 15 mm.
In the Delta mixer of the transmitter, the elevator and aileron commands of the transmitter are mixed with each other. 
The rudder deflections are then differentiated accordingly.
