d) Mounting the Aileron Linkage
Create the matching linkage rods with the rods from the construction
kit and connect them to the servo rudder horns.
Adjust the rudder horns at the ailerons in height so that the installed
linkage rods are horizontal with the rudder neutral (approx. 28 to
30 mm).
Screw connections metal/metal without stop nuts must be secured with
threadlocker varnish.
e) Mounting the Wings to the Fuselage
Before cutting out the foil at the fuselage, we recommend that you iron this area again.
Feel for the cut-outs for the wing plug-in pipe, the servo cables and the locking pins. Open these points with a cutter knife.
Try installing the wings to the fuselage and screw them on with the attachment screws M4 x 20 mm. Check the fit of the locking pins as well as the gap-free
transfer between the wing and fuselage. When everything is fitting, you may remove the wings again.
Small gaps are normal and not defects.
To make this area visually perfect, you may fill in the transfer with thickened resin.
Observe that the shaping at the fuselage is sufficiently waxed or applied with a protective foil.
f) Mounting the Rudder Hinges to the Elevators
Mounting of the rudder hinges to the elevator is performed in the same manner as described for the wing. However, the rudder hinges must be
shortened by approx. 5 mm on one side for installation in the elevator flaps.
Before bonding the rudder hinges, they must be roughened with sandpaper. To prevent sticking together of the rudder hinge joints, protect them with a drop of
oil at the joint.
Holes for the rudder hinges are already pre-drilled in the flaps and elevators. Plug the rudder hinges into the flaps and try plugging in the elevators dry as a test.
Check the gap widths, mobility and maximum rudder deflections (also see chapter 9 c, setting of the rudder deflections). Perform any correction that may be
required.
When everything matches, the rudder hinges can be glued to the elevators first and, after drying, to the flaps, with 30 minute epoxy resin. Observe a straight line
of the rudder hinges. Excess adhesive must be removed at once.
g) Mounting the Elevator Servos
Before cutting out the foil at the fuselage end, we recommend that this area is ironed again.
Feel for the cut-outs for the elevator servos at the fuselage end. Open these points with a cutter knife.
Mount the servos in the pre-assembled servo holders.
With the servos in neutral position, the rudder horns are then attached to the servos. Observe figure 2.
