Special features
The SC 29 flex is a waterproof, digital fever thermometer with a flexible measuring tip. It
displays the highest temperature within 10 seconds. It has a memory function to store the last
measured value. A fever alarm beeps when the temperature measured exceeds 37.5°.

Safety information
The SC 29 flex is suitable only for measuring human body temperatures.
The thermometer contains small parts (batteries, etc) which could be swallowed by small
children. Please keep the thermometer and its batteries out of the reach of small children. If the
battery or other parts are swallowed you should seek medical help immediately.
battery or other parts are swallowed you should seek medical help immediately.
The enclosed batteries may not be recharged or reactivated by other methods, may not be
dismantled, thrown into fires or short-circuited.
Protect the SC 29 flex from direct sunshine and temperatures above 50°C.
Never drop the SC 29 flex, do not bend or open it (with the exception of the battery
compartment for battery replacement).
Microbial contamination
Because a hundred percent disinfection is not possible under conditions at home, it is urgently
recommended that every patient should use their own fever thermometer.

Operating manual
Press the I/O button to switch on. A short signal tone shows that the device is in the "switched
on" mode. A segment test takes place simultaneously (checks all display segments).
After this, if the temperature measured by the
temperature sensor is less than 32°C, the display
shows an "L“ and "°C“. After around one second, the
"°C“ starts to blink. The „L“ stands for low (less than
32°C). The current temperature is continuously
displayed during measurement, and the "°C" blinks
during the entire measurement time. The measurement
is completed after around 10 seconds and "°C" stops
blinking. After the measurement is completed, the
temperature value measured remains in the display
until the SC 29 flex is switched off. To turn the device off after use, press the I/O button briefly.
The signal tone will again be sounded. If the device is not switched off, a signal tone is sounded
after around 3 minutes and the device then switches off automatically.

Fever alarm
If the temperature measured is 37.5°C or higher, the fever alarm beeps (short double beeps for
about 4 seconds) and the LC display flashes.

Display of last measured value
If you keep the I/O button pressed for longer than three seconds, the last measured value will
be shown in the display. As soon as you release the I/O button, the thermometer returns to

Measured value deviation
The measured temperatures will always deviate, depending on the measurement location. This
is normal, and caused by deviations in temperature distribution on the human body. You could,
for example, measure a rectal temperature of 36.5°C, an oral temperature of 36.0°C and an
underarm value of 35.5°C.

Under the arm (axillary)
From a medical viewpoint this type of measurement leads to inaccurate values. It is
therefore unsuitable for carrying out exact measurements.
