To change from Cover or Double chain stitch 

sewing to standard sewing, reverse the order 

of set up for Cover stitches. However, always 

remove the needle plate ( C ) before moving the 

lever from “C” to “S”.

The order is given below:

To ensure safety, turn off the power switch.

Also, cut and remove the thread before chang-

ing parts below.

1. Open the front cover.

2. Remove the cutter cover ( C ). (as explained 

on page 40)

3. Turn the handwheel toward you to set the 

needle to the highest position.

4. Raise the presser foot, and snap off presser 

foot ( C ).

5. Remove the front needle(s) from the needle 

clamp.

6. Remove the fl atbed and free arm covers.
