Follow the steps below to change from Root Bridge mode to Remote Bridge mode: 

 

1. Go 

to 

Tools | System Configuration drop down menu.  The System Configuration will be 

displayed as shown below (Figure 2-8). 

 
2.  Alternatively, click on the current device mode link on the top right hand corner to go to the 

System Configuration page. .   

 
3.  Under Current Operational Mode, Select Remote Bridge and click on Apply Changes.  A 

confirmation pop-up window will be displayed. 

 
4.  Enter IP Address, IP Mask and Gateway for Ethernet Configuration. 

 

5.  Click on the Apply Changes button to change the settings. The device will be rebooted and 

set to the chosen operational mode. 

 

 

 

 

 
Follow the steps below to change Root Bridge mode to Remote Router mode 

 

 

1. Go 

to 

Tools | System Configuration drop down menu.  The System Configuration will be 

displayed as shown below. 

.  

2.  Alternatively, click on the Current Device Mode link on the top right hand corner to go to the 

System Configuration page. 

3. Choose 

Router under the Remote Device option. Click on Apply Changes. A confirmation 

pop-up window will be displayed. 

 
4.  Enter IP Address, IP Mask and Gateway for Ethernet and Wireless Configurations.
