Backlight
From the Home screen, tap the Settings icon, then tap the Backlight tab on 
the left.  The current brightness setting will display.  Adjust the slider left/right 
to adjust the screen brightness to your liking.
Date & Time
From the Home screen, tap the Settings icon, then tap the Date/Time tab on 
the left.  Use the up/down arrow keys to adjust the date and time.
