Synology DX5 delivers an effortless solution for volume expansion and data backup for 2009 Synology
Disk Station. It not only helps users smoothly expand the Synology Disk Station DS509+ capacity to 10
hard drives on the fly, but also can be used as a perfect backup solution.
When running out of the hard drive capacity on Synology Disk Station DS509+, users can expand more storage
with Synology DX5. By attaching it to Synology Disk Station DS509+, the plug-n-use connectivity and eSATA 3.0
Gb/sec definition allow users to expand volume from Synology Disk Station DS509+.
Synology DX5 delivers a perfect backup solution for Synology 2009 Disk Station, too. By attaching it to Synology
2009 Disk Station, the plug-n-use connectivity and eSATA 3.0 Gb/sec definition allows users to create an
independent volume on the Synology Disk Station as a good backup target.
The HDD hibernation can be manually configured to take effect automatically when the system has been
inactive for a period of time. This not only save energy but also extends the lifespan of the hard disk.
Synology DX5 can be directly managed from Synology Disk Station Manager 2.1. No firmware installation is
needed.
