Be careful not to bend the disc when
taking it out of the case and be careful
not to scratch it when placing it back in
the case or player.
If cleaning is required, use a soft dry
cloth, special DVD cleaning liquid or pure
alcohol. Do not use any solvents.
Never attempt to play a cracked disc
as this could damage and shatter the
DVD player.
If inscription is necessary, use a soft
felt-tipped pen on the label area. Do not
use a sharp or hard-tipped pen. For
labelling, use only recommended labels.
Handle the discs at the hub or outer
edge, be careful not touch the recording
surface.
Although a scratched or dirty disc
can't harm your player, it is recommended
to keep them clean as this will help keep
the inside of your player clean.
Always ensure discs are stored in the
case provided, avoiding direct sunlight,
excessive heat, humidity, pets, small chil-
dren and other destructive forces.
The optimum conditions for DVDs are
15-25°C, 20-40% relative humidity, with
no direct sunlight and free from dust.
Step 4: Caring for your discs
Since DVDs are read by a laser, they are resistant, to a point,
to fingerprints, dust and smudges, however surface
contaminants and scratches can cause data errors. To ensure
your discs achieve the maximum output there are a few
precautions that can be taken when handling your DVDs.
Step 5: Any more questions?
Are Fujifilm's DVD-RAM discs removable or non-removable?
Certain DVD-RAM drives require the disc to be placed in a cartridge. When purchasing
a DVD-RAM care should be taken to ensure that the product will meet your
requirements. Refer to the compatibility chart at the back of this guide.
What do the different burning speeds refer to?
Write speeds indicate the speed at which information is written to a disk. Note that CD
& DVD write speeds are not comparable as they are on measured on a different scale.
e.g. a 2x DVD is equivalent to an 18x CD.
Why don't the higher speed DVD discs work in my drive?
Initially, check you are using the right media for your drive. Refer to the compatibility
chart at the back of this guide. Also check that the drive you are using can write at the
same speed as the DVD can record.
