Problem Solver
When an Error Message is Displayed
If an error should occur with the printer (it is not working properly), the alert lamp and/or control panel light will light
up and a message is displayed on the screen informing you of the problem.
The messages displayed are described in the following section. If you encounter an error message, refer to the solutions
listed here and perform the necessary steps to fix the problem.

Auto Cleaning
This feature is not available now.
Print the check pattern in the nozzle
check menu.
Press the Z button to remove the message and then execute Print Check Pattern from
the Ink Menu.

Auto Nozzle Check
This feature is not available now.
Print the check pattern in the nozzle
check menu.
Press the Z button to remove the message and then execute Print Check Pattern from
the Ink Menu.

Black Ink Error
Black ink does not match print job.
To cancel printing, press W
button.
To change black ink to print, press
[
 button.
The type of black ink setting on the printer and in the printer driver is not the same. Press
the [ button to switch to the type of black ink specified in the printer driver and
continue printing. It takes approximately 2 to 3 minutes to switch black ink types (from ink
replacement until ink charging is complete). Also, approximately 2 to 4 ml of the black ink
being changed to is consumed. Do not switch the black ink unless necessary.
Borderless Error
Load a supported paper size or load
paper correctly.
Check the following points.
❏ Press the W button to perform Job Cancel, and then eject the paper. Load the
correct size of paper.

❏ If the paper is wavy or slack, the printer cannot recognize the paper size correctly.
Flatten the paper before loading it in the printer, or use new paper.

❏ Load paper in the correct position.

❏ If Paper Size Check is set to Off from the Menu, try setting it to On.

Cartridge Cover Open
Close left cartridge cover.
Close the cartridge cover on the left.
