(Europe Only) Dual Model PIN Requirements 
Following Repair 
INFORMATION 
The following scenarios describe when the 4-digit PIN number will 
need to be re-entered into a metered device. If the customer does not 
know the 4 digit PIN, you will need to contact Xerox Customer 
Support and request the PIN. You will need to provide the serial 
number of the metered device. 
 
Catastrophic  
Engine Board  
Failure 
(MCU) 
•  Replace MCU
board 
•  MCU board will not have any of the settings from 
the previous board – i.e., registration values, etc. 
•  Need to set the MCU board into PagePack mode 
•  Enter Service Diagnostics Mode (technician 
has access, customer does not) 
•  In Service Diagnostics, select Menu “IP 
NVRAM” then Factory NVRAM Reset 
(password “4370”) perform reset 
•  Enter the Hidden Service Menu (technician has 
access, customer does not) 
Select “Service Tools Menu” then press the up 
key then down key releases keys.  
•  “Enable Metered Toner” menu will appear, 
press OK. 
•  Front panel prompts for PIN, enter 
customer PIN 
•  MCU will NOT have the machine serial number 
loaded 
•  Technician needs to load the serial number via 
snippet or CWIS

•  Verify the restore command worked properly by

this procedure will be equivalent to 
the “catastrophic MCU failure” scenario
