Applying a Privilege Level to a Username
To set the user privilege level, use the following command.
• Configure a privilege level for a user.
CONFIGURATION mode
username username privilege level
Applying a Privilege Level to a Terminal Line
To set a privilege level for a terminal line, use the following command.
• Configure a privilege level for a user.
CONFIGURATION mode
username username privilege level
NOTE: When you assign a privilege level between 2 and 15, access to the system begins at EXEC 
mode, but the prompt is hostname#, rather than hostname>.
Configuring Logging
The Dell Networking operating system tracks changes in the system using event and error messages.
By default, the operating system logs these messages on:
• the internal buffer
• console and terminal lines
• any configured syslog servers
To disable logging, use the following commands.
• Disable all logging except on the console.
CONFIGURATION mode
no logging on
• Disable logging to the logging buffer.
CONFIGURATION mode
no logging buffer
• Disable logging to terminal lines.
CONFIGURATION mode
no logging monitor
• Disable console logging.
CONFIGURATION mode
no logging console
