Usually there are three file types: 

•  R: Regular recording file. 
•  A: External alarm recording file. 
•  M: Motion detection recording file  

There are several  playback windows. Usually  the  system supports 
1/2/3/4-ch playback, and HD-DVR-1016 also supports 16-ch playback.
