Example

Please use the following example of the popular Thorens TD 295
Mk IV turntable equipped with an Ortofon Super OM 40
(Moving Magnet) cartridge as a guideline.

Recommended load resistance:

47kΩ

Recommended load capacitance:

200pF-400pF

Resistance loading:

Capacitance loading:

74pF

(SXV2 capacitance + turntable capacitance = total load capacitance

74pF + 160pF = 234pF, satisfying the recommended 200pF-400pF)

Gain:

(based on Sensitivity bracket of 4.0mV±50%
