Positioning781 Loosen the bolts the on each side of the unit that secure the antenna boxes to the antenna brackets using a 3/8-inch nut driver.782 Slide the antenna forward and away from the fueling unit in the bracket slots.783 Rotate the antenna to the upright position parallel to the ground.784 Slide the antenna back towards the unit until the bolts stops in the slots and the molded part of the antenna bracket is secure inside the bracket fork.795 Tighten the bolts that secure the antenna into position using the 3/8-inch nut driver or equivalent.797 – Dispenser Set-Up80Addressing Dither Sync Address for LF/UHF Full System80Figure 7-1: Data Control Board and Dip Switch Location801 From Side A of unit, locate the dip switches on the DCB inside the card cage.802 Using switches 2, 3, 4, and 5, address each dispenser so that no two at one site are identical.80Setting Baud Rate81Addressing the Gateway/Enhanced Gateway Board811 Access the unit’s CRIND logic board. Refer to MDE-2562 CRIND Service Manual.812 Locate jump jacks on A and B side CRIND logic boards T17764-XX (Figure7-3).813 Note position of jump jacks and set jump jacks on Gateway/Enhanced Gateway Board (Figure7-2) to match address on CRIND logic boards (Figure7-3) for both A and B sides.81Figure 7-2: Gateway Boards Jump Jack Locations81Figure 7-3: CRIND T17764-XX Logic Board82CRIND Address Table83Preparation for Tuning Antennas841 For units without G-SITE® put unit in ‘standalone’ mode. Refer to “Standalone Jumper Cable R20602-G1 For LF/UHF Full System” on page 67 and “Standalone Jumper Cable R20602-G2 For Enhanced Gateway” on page 69.842 Restore power to unit(s).843 After restoring power to the unit, verify that the unit is in “standalone” mode by observing that the LEDs on the light board are flashing.84Tuning Antennas84Tuning Single-Loop Antennas841 Locate the access port for the tuning pot in the over-head antenna connection box on Side 1.842 Lay field strength sensor on the antenna as shown on Figure7-4. Exact location is not critical.84Figure 7-4: Field Strength Senor Positioning843 On the card cage, move the three position “tune” toggle switch (Figure7-5) from center position to “A”.85Figure 7-5: Tune Toggle Switch Locations854 Connect the leads to field strength sensor. Position the multi-meter selector switch to DC voltage.855 By fine adjustments to tuning pot, set to highest DC voltage reading.856 Voltage will peak at a point, and then decrease with turns in either direction. Set at peak.857 Repeat Steps 1 through 5 for position “B” and then return tune toggle switch to center position.85Mobil Antennas861 Locate variable inductor on printed circuit board in the over-head antenna connection box. The variable inductor, similar to a tuning pot, has a slot for the tuning tool. See “T20231 Mobil Overhead Antenna Assembly” on page 32.862 The variable inductor on the side A over head antenna connection box should be turned out 5 to 6 turns as a starting point.86Figure 7-6: Variable Inductor Location863 Lay field strength sensor flat at a position (Figure7-7) on the “A” side plastic antenna housing, to the right of connection box.86Figure 7-7: Field Strength Sensor Location on Side A864 On card cage, move the three position “tune” toggle switch from the center position to “A”.87Figure 7-8: Tune Toggle Switch Location875 Connect the leads on the multi-meter to field strength sensor. Set the meter to the DC voltage range.876 By fine adjustments to variable inductor, set to the highest DC voltage reading.877 Repeat Steps 1 through 6 for ‘B’ side.878 When finished, return the tune toggle switch to the center position.878 – Testing and Troubleshooting88Status Indicators88T20128 Gateway Board88Figure 8-1: Gateway Board T2012888T20678 Enhanced Gateway Board89Figure 8-2: Enhanced Gateway Board T2067889Q13563 Data Control Board90Figure 8-3: Data Control Board Q13563-0190Figure 8-4: Data Control Board Q13563-0491T20601/M01560 Light/Micro Reader Boards92Figure 8-5: RFID Light/Micro Reader Boards92Isolating TRIND from CRIND931 Shut off all power to unit.932 Disconnect either A or B side R20519-G3 cable from either J8 (B side) or J7 (A side) on the DCB in the TRIND card cage, and insert the standalone jumper in-line (between J8 and P8 or between J7 and P7). For jumper details refer to “Standalone Jum...933 Remove J4 from Data Control Board.934 Restore power to unit, and test TRIND operation (see “Dummy Load Transmitter R20526” on page 70). If TRIND functions properly the problem is with CRIND or CRIND related equipment. Refer to MDE-2562 CRIND Service Manual.93Tag Testing93Car Mounted Test Tags931 Place the unit into the standalone mode. Refer to “Standalone Jumper Cable R20602-G1 For LF/UHF Full System” on page 67 for the appropriate standalone cable connection.932 From “A” side of the unit, hold the car mount test tag (Q13630-01 from the ASC TRIND tool kit) in front of unit at a distance of approximately 6 feet from the face of unit. Observe that the door or faceplate TRIND indicator will light.933 Repeat Steps 1 and 2 for the “B” side.93Hand Held Test Tags941 Place the unit into the standalone mode. Refer to “Standalone Jumper Cable R20602-G2 For Enhanced Gateway” on page 69 for the appropriate standalone cable connection.942 From Side 1 of the unit, point the hand held test tag (Q13630-02 from the ACS TRIND tool kit) at the TRIND target graphic (Figure8-6). The TRIND indicator will light when the tag is approximately 3 inches or less away for the target graphic. Repeat...94Figure 8-6: TRIND Hand Held Test Tag Positioning943 Repeat Steps 1 and 2 for Side 2.94Alternative Testing Using Laptop951 Connect laptop to RS232 port on DCB.952 Go to: “C:\windows program (hyperterminal)\Accessories\Terminal\Settings\Communications”953 Set for:954 Then go to:955 From Side A of unit position the hand held test tag (Q13630-02 from the ACS TRIND tool kit) in front of the TRIND target graphic. Observe that the door or faceplate TRIND indicator lights.956 From Side A of unit hold the car mount test tag (Q13630-01 from the ASC TRIND tool kit) in front of unit, at a distance of approximately 6 feet from overhead antenna. Observe that the door or faceplate TRIND indicator lights.957 Repeat Steps 5 and 6 for Side B.95Troubleshooting Printed Circuit Boards on the T20229-G1 Card Cage Assembly96Light/Micro-Reader Board T20295-G196Gateway PCB T20128-G197Transmitter PCB Q13579-0197Data Control Board Q13563-0198TI/RFID Power Supply T20138-G1981 Verify the voltage output from TI/RFID (see “Power Supply Boards T20138 and T20314” on page 24).982 If voltage not present or reduced, verify that TI/RFID Power Supply is receiving 60 volts from Transformer R20600-G1 at P174.983 If 60 volts are present, power down TRIND, remove connector at P173, power up, and recheck voltage with connector still off.984 If voltage is normal, problem is on DCB (see table below).
