This is quite uncommon, though.23An S-Video output (4-pin). This output can be used as composite RCA output (the “S-Video to Composite” adapter comes with your video card or computer)23A mixed output (7-pin, S-Video compatible). This output can either be used as S-Video output (plugs are physically compatible) or composite RCA output (the adapter is nonstandard and comes with your video card or computer).231.1 Direct connection231.2 Wireless connection241. Use the included cable to link your PC “Line Out” to the transmitter audio inputs.242. As stated above, a video plug adapter might be necessary. Plug the male yellow RCA jack into the “Video In” plug of the transmitter.243. The receiver has female RCA jacks for audio and video outputs. Use the triple RCA-to-RCA cable to connect these outputs to the corresponding inputs on your TV and/or amplifier, as you would do with a direct con nection.244. Plug the power transformers into the emitter and the receiver. Make sure you have selected the same channel on the transmitter and the receiver (you can switch channels by using the pushbutton on the front of the devices).245. Configure your appliances to select the right input channels. You can now start installing software.24APPENDIX 2 Troubleshooting252.1 General Considerations251. Always make sure to troubleshoot one thing at a time.252. If you have any doubts with a wireless connection, try to make a direct connection first.253. If your secondary output is not detected, make sure your connections were OK before booting the machine. TV output availability (from the system’s point of view) may depend on the connections actually made at boot time.255. If you have problems with colors (output is black and white or blurred) or image output quality or position, the reason is probably with the video standard used for TV output. Make sure your video output standard (PAL, SECAM, NTSC, and var...256. If you see the same picture on your regular screen and secondary output, you’ve forgotten to check the “Extend” checkbox for the secondary mon itor or your hardware features “duplicate outputs” only. Also try to update your video drivers t...257. Make sure that your video card supports DirectX 9. All recent cards are OK but some old ones might not have support for this; check with the hardware manufacturer for information and / or updates.252.2 Troubleshooting a “Direct Connection” configuration251. Did you locate your plugs correctly?252. Did you select the right inputs on your appliances?253.
