The issue of presenting in
environments with limited
projection space can now
be eliminated with the new
XD221U-ST. This native XGA
projector is equipped with an
ultra-powerful short-throw lens
that can project an amazing
60-inch diagonal image from
a distance of just 33 inches
(83cm) from the screen.
With such an amazingly short
projection distance,
any concerns about presenters
casting their shadow on
the screen are now eliminated.

Like giving a presentation in a suburban
residential area in the middle of the
night! That’s the operating sound level
promised by the XD221U-ST.
Silent 26dBA Operation
(in Low mode)
2. Quiet Fan Noise
A high-volume, 10W speaker is built-in, eliminating the need for an external
speaker. By using a microphone (sold separately) the presenter's voice is
reproduced loud and clear in real-time. Additionally, the "Audio Mix" feature
enables the microphone's audio to lay over the sound from another input source.

Due to a long projection
distance, the instructor is
forced to stand directly
between the projector and
the screen. When facing
the students, the projector
light enters the instructor’s
field of vision. This can blind
the instructor, whose
shadow may also be cast
on the screen.
With the projector installed
close to the screen,
the projector light does
not get in the instructor’s
eyes even when directly
facing the students.
This proximity also keeps
the instructor’s shadow off
the presentation contents.
(*1): 3W in Normal mode (network turned on).
(*2): When used in the Low lamp mode. Maximum lamp life in Standard mode use is 3,000 hours.
(*3): Lamp life refers to the average time required for brightness to be reduced by half, and not the time
specified in the warranty. Service life may vary widely depending on the environment and conditions,
and whether or not cleaning and other maintenance procedures are followed.
20dBA: The sound of rustling tree leaves,
              ticking of a clock’s
              second hand
             (from 1m away).
30dBA: Whispering voices,
             the suburbs late at night.
40dBA: A quiet residential area,
             songbirds chirping.
