Avaya Message Storage Server capacities
Table 11-2 provides information on the capacities of an Avaya Message 
Storage Server (MSS), the high-availability configuration (MSS—H) and 
the standard-availability configuration (MSS—S).
Note: Capacities for single Microsoft Exchange and IBM Lotus 
Domino servers are not controlled by Avaya and must be 
determined from Microsoft and IBM.

1. With software mirroring, two disks provide the actual storage capacity of only one disk.
2. With RAID Level 5, three disks provide the actual storage capacity of only two disks.
3. The MSS calculations account for the need to have at least 20% free space available for the system to 
run. Thus system free space is built into these calculations for the MSS.
