13  BASIC TROUBLESHOOTING 
Use Table 13-1 as a troubleshooting guide if the radio does not operate properly. If additional assistance 
is required, contact a qualified service technician or call M/A-COM at 1-800-528-7711.  
Table 13-1: Troubleshooting 
SYMPTOM 
POSSIBLE CAUSE 
POSSIBLE SOLUTION 
Radio will not turn on. 
Low Battery. 
Change the battery pack to a fully charged pack. 
No Audio. 
Speaker volume is muted. 
Increase the volume level. 
Poor Audio. 
User is in a poor coverage 
area or not on the network. 
Data cable is connected. 
Move to a better coverage area. 
If the data cable is connected, enter “atspkr1” to enable 
internal speaker. 
Radio will not register or does 
not receive provisioning data. 
Bad logon credentials. 
Check logon and password. 
Radio powers off for no 
apparent reason. 
Radio may be experiencing 
very low voltage.  
Have the battery checked by an authorized technician. 
Encrypted calls cannot be 
made. 
Not authorized to use. 
Contact system administrator to request encryption 
privileges. 
Radio will not transmit. 
Radio may be out of 
coverage area or may be 
overheated. 
Return to coverage area if possible. If overheated, let radio 
cool before retrying transmission. Report this failure to an 
authorized technician.
