The recorded image is white
● Shutter speed is set to NIGHTSCOPE or slow 
speed.
H NIGHTSCOPE and slow speed are only for use in 
dark conditions. (
Playback
Playback cannot be performed.
● Recording medium is not selected properly.
H Select the recording medium. (
● Playback starts, but there is no picture on the 
connected TV.
H Set the TV's input mode or channel appropriate 
for video playback.
The same image is displayed for a long time 
during video playback, or motion is choppy. 
● If the surface of the SD card is damaged, it makes 
it difficult to read data and these phenomena will 
appear. This camera will make all possible efforts 
to read data, but when such a state continues for 
some time and further playback is impossible, it 
will stop automatically.
H It is recommended to run check disk regularly on 
the PC, on condition that there is no data on the 
hard disk of the camera.
Advanced features
The focus does not adjust automatically.
● Focus is set to the manual mode.
H Set focus to the automatic mode. (
● The lens is dirty or covered with condensation.
H Clean the lens and check the focus again. 
The colour of the image looks strange.
● The light source or the subject does not include 
white. Or there are various different light sources 
behind the subject. 
H Try manual white balance adjustment. (
The recorded image is too dark.
● Shooting was performed under backlit conditions.
H Try backlight compensation (
exposure. (
The recorded image is too bright.
● The subject is too bright.
H Try manual exposure. (
White balance setting cannot be activated.
● The sepia (SEPIA) or monotone (MONOTONE) 
mode is activated.
H Turn off the sepia (SEPIA) or monotone 
(MONOTONE) mode before setting white 
balance. (
The black & white fader does not work.
● The sepia (SEPIA) or monotone (MONOTONE) 
mode is activated.
H Turn off the sepia (SEPIA) or monotone 
(MONOTONE) mode. (
The continuous shooting speed of still 
images is slow.
● The continuous shooting speed will drop when 
repeatedly making continuous shots, when using 
certain recording medium, or under certain 
recording conditions. (
