Although the built-in flash and an externally mounted flash

 will fire 

with automatic flash adjustments (except in the 

 mode), it is also 

possible to set them so that it fires without any adjustments.

* Speedlite 220EX/430EX/580EX II

Use the S or T button to select 

[Contrast], [Sharpness], [Saturation], 

[Red], [Green], [Blue] or [Skin Tone] and 

the W or X button to adjust it.

The altered color will display.

Press the SET button.
