Horizontal binning
Definition
In horizontal binning adjacent horizontal pixels in a line are combined in
pairs.
pairs.
This means that in horizontal binning the light sensitivity of the camera is
also increased by a factor of two (6 dB). Signal-to-noise separation improves
by approx. 3 dB.

This reduces horizontal resolution. The new resolution is approximately 1/2
of the original resolution.
of the original resolution.
Format_7 Mode_5
By default use Format_7 Mode_5 for 2 x horizontal binning.
