5.   The login name is “admin” and there is no password assigned. We strongly recommend that you assign 

an admin password to secure access to the switch management function. After successful login, the 
screen should show the (GSM7224)> prompt. Enter “show sysinfo” to display the management CPU’s 
IP address. The switch is shipped using DHCP by default to receive its IP address. To manually set a 
static IP address; you must first disable DHCP as follows: 

 

 

When the system prompt displays, enter the following command: 

 

 

The example above uses “192.168.1.100” for the IP address, and “192.168.1.1” for the gateway IP 
address. You should substitute your own IP addresses in the above command line.
