The available diagnostic tools are:

These reports are described in the sections that follow.

The DNS lookup tool returns the numerical IP address of a domain name. To perform a DNS name
lookup:

1.

From the “Choose a diagnostic tool” box, select DNS Name Lookup.

In the box provided, enter the name of the host to look up.

Do not add the prefix "http://".

Click Go.

The firewall router will then query the DNS server and display the result at the bottom of the
screen.

To perform a DNS Name Lookup, you must have already defined a DNS server IP address

in the General Setup Network window.

The Find Network Path tool shows whether an IP host is located on the LAN or the WAN. This is
helpful information in determining whether the firewall router is properly configured. For
example, if the firewall router concludes that a host on the Internet is located on the LAN port,
there may be a problem with the configuration of the Network settings. Find Network Path also
shows if the target is behind a firewall router, and it displays the Ethernet address of the target
computer or firewall router. Find Network Path also shows which router a computer is using,
which can help isolate router configuration problems.

To find the network path to a host:

From the “Choose a diagnostic tool” box, select Find Network Path.
