Initial Router Configuration

Use menu 3 to configure Ethernet LAN parameters, including interface type, filters, DHCP, and 
IP address information. From the Main Menu, enter 3 to display Menu 3 - Ethernet Setup. 
There are two submenus: Menu 3.1 - General Setup and Menu 3.2 - TCP/IP and DHCP Setup.

Use the General Setup Menu to configure filter sets for filtering Ethernet traffic. You can use filter 
sets to block certain packets in order to reduce bandwidth or to enhance security. You must first 
create these filter sets using Menu 21; and then apply them by number in this menu. Refer to 

,” for more information about configuring filters.

You can configure the router to act as a DHCP server, letting it assign IP, DNS, and default 
gateway addresses to attached PCs or workstations. The assigned default gateway address is the 
LAN address of the router, as set in the TCP/IP section. Each pool address is tested before it is 
assigned to avoid duplicate addresses on the LAN.
