Identifying Parts of the Notebook
The illustrations that follow identify the various features and external
components of the Notebook computer. Familiarizing yourself with these

1. Combo Module (FDD/CD-ROM)
Your Notebook comes equipped with a factory-installed Combo module. The
Combo Module contains an FDD and CD-ROM in one removable case. Insert
3.5-inch floppy diskettes into the lower floppy disk drive. Note the two eject
buttons: the upper button ejects the CD-ROM tray; the lower button ejects a
diskette from the floppy disk drive. The lower eject button only pops out when
a diskette is inserted into the drive. The Combo Module can be removed and
replaced with a different module. See the section, Installing and Removing
Modules in Chapter 6, for a detailed description of installing and removing the
Combo module.

2. LCD Panel Release Button
To open the Notebook, slide this release button to the right. This will release
the LCD panel latch. Now raise the panel to its open position as shown in
Figure 1-4. Note that the Notebook’s LCD panel can be adjusted to an angle
ranging from 0° to 180°. Adjust the LCD panel for a comfortable viewing
angle.
