voice traffic from the public network to communicate directly with the 5100/6100 VDR and 

bypass the private network.

You can set the loopback interface by issuing the set ip loopback command. This address should 

be a public IP address appropriate to the network from and to which you want to route voice 

traffic.
Syntax: set ip loopback <ip address> <mask>
Arguments:

IP address

standard notation IP address

mask

standard subnet mask

Example:

In this example, the IP address and subnet mask is 205.176.94.17.

VPacket# set ip loopback 205.176.94.17 255.255.255.0

VPacket# commit ip

VPacket# save

This action will overwrite the configuration in the Flash memory
