In this example, the primary DNS server is set to IP address 209.119.23.6, which is a remote DNS
host (see Figure 4-1 on page 104).
Setting a secondary DNS server
You can set a secondary DNS server by issuing the set dns client secondary_server command.
Syntax: set dns client secondary_server <IP address>
Argument:
Syntax: set dns client secondary_server <IP address>
Argument:
IP address in standard notation; specifies a secondary server (public or private) to call for
DNS services
Example:
In this example, the secondary server is set to IP address 10.10.10.4.
Setting the DNS client wait time
You can set the amount of time in seconds that the 5100/6100 VDR will wait for a response from
the DNS server by issuing the set dns client wait_time command.
Syntax: set dns client wait_time <time in seconds>
Argument:
Syntax: set dns client wait_time <time in seconds>
Argument:
time in seconds
maximum time the 5100/6100 VDR waits for a response
Example:
In this example, the 5100/6100 VDR is configured to wait 10 seconds.
