Before setting the printer protocol, you must follow the procedure below to
enable communication between the computer that you are using and the
printer.

z NetSpot must be installed on the computer that you are using. The system
administrator should install NetSpot on the computer to be used. (Æ Setup Guide)
z If you are using an operating system that is not compatible with NetSpot, use
another computer on the network to perform the setting.
z The following procedure is required for the MAC address. Follow the procedure
below to confirm the MAC address and configure the printer:
1. Press the Online button. The Online lamp switches off.
2. Press the Cancel Job/Utility button.
3. Press or to select “Ext. I/F Print” then press .

z Before performing the procedure below, confirm that the printer is switched on and
connected to the network.

Start NetSpot in the Administrator Mode.

If the Devices window is not open, from the Window menu, select
New Window then select IPX Devices.
