Compex launches the Wireless Remote Monitoring Solution

January 2005, Compex Systems Pte Ltd announces the release of the wireless
remote monitoring solution.
This solution is made up of two state-of-the-art-technologies, Compex’s wireless multimedia
gateway NetPassage 28G and a professional VGA CCD camera with motion tracking and pan-tilt
features.
Compex NetPassage 28G Multimedia Gateway IEEE 802.11g wireless gateway satisfy the
requirements of the most demanding wireless user. NetPassage 28G sports four USB 2.0 ports,
which can be connected to USB storage disks, printers, or webcam for wireless surveillance. In
this solution, we make use of NP-28G’s flexible connectivity to connect to a webcam for remote
monitoring and surveillance. Each NP-28G allows the connection of a webcam which can be
placed at any location within the house. Installing additional camera/ NP28G units around the
house is simple as they connect wirelessly without the need for cabling work. Besides connecting
to a camera, NP-28G also acts as a multi-purpose multimedia gateway with the flexibility to
connect to devices such as external harddisk or flash disk and allow music or video files to be
shared.
Working parents no longer have to worry about their young children who are left alone at home
with their domestic helpers or at the childcare centre, working children do not have to worry about
their elderly parents left at home and bosses do not have to worry about their shops/ offices being
left unattended.
To monitor what is going on at home or in the office, all you need is just an Internet Connection
with a computer. You’ll then be able to view real-time, colored video of what is going on at the
remote location. Monitor anytime, anywhere at your convenience. The internet-based monitoring
system allows users to monitor multiple sites simultaneously on a single computer through a user-
